TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR SIMPLE WILL BY MERISTEM

Effective Date: 26th May 2025.

  1. 1. Introduction

    Welcome to Simple Will by Meristem Trustees Limited (“Meristem,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By accessing or using our platform to create a Simple Will, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.

  2. 2. Eligibility

    You must be at least 18 years old and possess the legal capacity to create a Will under Nigerian law to use this platform.

  3. 3. Scope of the Simple Will

    The Simple Will service is designed to cover only cash and near-cash assets, including:

    • Bank accounts
    • Pension funds
    • Shares

    It does not accommodate other asset classes such as real estate, vehicles, or personal property. For comprehensive estate planning, you will need to engage us separately.

  4. 4. Fees

    Will Drafting and Lodgement Fee:
    ₦100,000 (One-time payment)
    Custody Fee:
    ₦25,000 (Payable every two years)

    All fees are exclusive of logistics and are non-refundable.

  5. 5. Payment Terms

    Payments should be made through the designated channels provided on our platform. Meristem does not accept cash payments. Ensure that all payments are made to the official accounts specified.

  6. 6. Confidentiality and Data Protection

    We are committed to protecting your personal information. All data provided will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws in Nigeria.

  7. 7. User Responsibilities

    By using this platform, you agree to:

    • Provide accurate and complete information.
    • Keep your login credentials confidential.
    • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
  8. 8. Limitations of Liability

    Meristem Trustees Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this platform. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the Simple Will service.

  9. 9. Amendments

    We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting on our platform. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

  10. 10. Governing Law

    These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Nigerian courts.
